counseling that aims to recreate norms, not fit them.
I have been working with children in the mental health field for several years, and within a variety of settings. Throughout my work, I have realized that many of the treatments that currently exist for neurodivergent children and their families are outdated, inappropriate, or inaccessible.
Neurodivergent refers to individuals who might think, sense, feel, move, process, socialize, or communicate differently than the general population. So why do the vast majority of services available to this population still utilize neurotypical approaches and methodologies?

We understand that regulation is an intricate balancing act between a variety of systems, not just our emotional processes. We know that neurodivergent individuals can experience increased difficulty in managing overload in sensory, emotional, and cognitive areas due to brain differences. Therefore, we aim to consider the whole child, and the systems that they operate within, in order to support wellness, growth, and independence.
Children are not a one-size-fits all. At Integral Play, we strive to create a therapeutic environment and care plan that fits each child's unique needs, by integrating a wide range of therapeutic techniques and interventions. All of our work, however, is grounded in individualized relationships and play-based approaches.

our passion involves working with, learning from, and advocating for the neurodivergent community and their families
creating a community of care that supports individual needs.
Our practice aims to move away from outdated approaches, while increasing the number of appropriate relationship-based services that are available to this population.
This requires addressing fundamental misunderstandings surrounding neurodivergence, within the medical field and larger community, through education, partnerships, and outreach.
Our team strives to advocate for our patients' rights to appropriate education, inclusion, and access to needed supports and accommodations.
We believe that differences are beautiful and should be celebrated!
